Born and raised in Adams, ND and graduating from Adams High School, Arnie is a graduate of Mayville State College, Mayville, ND with a BS degree in Business Education. He also attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks doing graduate work in School Administration. As a US air force veteran, Arnie has been awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal of Honor and served in Viet Nam.

After college Arnie taught school and was principal for one year at the Goodrich Public School in Goodrich, ND. From 1974 to 1990 Arnie worked for Midwest Federal Savings Bank of Minot in various management positions throughout NE North Dakota. He then worked for Home Federal Savings Bank of Sioux Falls, SD as a Vice-President and District Manager of Branch Operations from 1990 to 1993. Since then, Arnie has worked as a REALTOR and property manager in Bismarck, ND. As a licensed REALTOR, Arnie is able to sell real estate throughout the State of North Dakota. Arnie is involved with many civic and social organizations including being a director for the Bismarck-Mandan Board of REALTORS, serving as an Ambassador for the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce, and is actively involved with the Bismarck-Mandan Homebuilders Association and the Bismarck-Mandan Apartment Association.

Arnie is also a member of the Bismarck - Mandan Elks Club, Veterans of Forgein Wars(VFW), and the Viet Nam Vets
of America.
